Get it together

Wednesday, June 25, 2014

Hello beauties!

As I have mentioned before, we just bought a house! Which has been a transition! To start off with, the bathroom! In the house we lived in before, the bathroom had cabinets and drawers. So obviously I put my make up and hair care in the drawers. Now this bathroom is more of a vanity set up, which at first I thought was going to be GREAT and then I slowly HATED it cause there was no room for my stuff and now I LOVE it!

So this is an overview of the sink/vanity area.
(Remember our house is not even close to done yet!)
The chair is an extra from an old table set that I plan on
either painting or finding a cute chair to go.
Anyways, where the chair is, is where my drawers were
in the old house.. so I lost a lot of drawer space.
I'm not usually one who likes stuff on the counter,
but I came up with a solution that works for me!

So I have my perfume tray with a couple of my favorites
I have a beauty box with my make up favorites
& then of course a personal mirror.

I've had this mirrored perfume tray for awhile,
I believe I got it at TJ Maxx for like $7?
It use to sit on my dresser in my bedroom,
but I really like how it turned out in here.

Then I have my beauty box.
I purchased this last month off Amazon for $30.
I was worried about the size at first, but its absolutely
perfect for me! They have plenty of them on Amazon with different sizes, different compartments, even lipstick holders, brush holders.. really you name it they got it! A couple other places I've seen these would be Bed Bath & Beyond, The container store, and even Target.

Then my personal mirror.
I believe I purchased it from Wal-Mart a couple years ago,
it matched my other bathroom so it was really just for looks..
till now!

Bottom Drawer;
Too Faced a few of my favorite things pallet.
This is probably my go to pallet! It has eyes, cheeks, bronzer & contour.
Perfect for traveling too!
I had purchased this from Sephora back in October I believe,
I checked and it's no longer available on Sephora, but I found it on Amazon.
I will say it's a bit more expensive now since it's not longer available.

Next Drawer;

I have the Urban Decay naked 3 pallet,
The Urban Decay naked pallet,
I have a True Match concealer from Loreal,
An Urban decay eye shadow,
& I believe a Lancome lipstick
.. This is another drawer for my frequent pallets,
but I put a couple other odd and ends in here because they wouldn't
fit elsewhere.

Next;

We have a blush & bronzer from Millani,
A blush and bronzer duo from Sonia Kashuk,
A blush that I'm not sure of the maker.. oops!
Benefit porfessional primer,
Stila all over shimmer duo,
Benefit Hoola Bronzer,

Next;

Eyeliner from Loreal I believe,
a random eye shadow from Lancome,
and then a whole bunch of eye liners, brow pencils, lip pencils
& mascara!

Last but not least;

The top drawer is for my favorite or daily pieces of jewelry.

Ta-dah!

Of course there is more..

Of course that is not the only make up I have.
In the cabinets, I have more make up then I know what to do with! But the make up in my beauty box is what I use most.

If you noticed, I didn't have any foundation in my beauty box..
this is because it doesn't fit! I usually have it stuffed in this little bag right underneath so I can pull it out everyday. I am currently on the hunt for another small mirrored tray to put my foundations on.

Anyways BEAUTIES,
That's all I have for now.
Just thought I'd share whats going on in my bathroom!
Usually when I am getting ready I also have my ipad in there
and watch netflix or youtube while I am getting ready.
I am really loving this set up and the vanity!
Let me know what you think and if you have any
tips or tricks to share!

Till next time.

Skin Prep

Saturday, May 24, 2014

Hey Beauties!

I have been soaking up the sun a lot lately!
I went to the pool twice
& the beach this week
and with Memorial day on Monday,
I am sure to be exposed to the sun once again.

+

While I was prepping for the beach the other day,
I thought I would share with you what I do,
to prep my skin for sun exposure!
I am a huge fanatic on taking care of my skin
cause I don't want to

1. Get skin cancer
2. Age faster then need be
3. look like leather

So here are my go to products..

Loreal Youth Code Texture Perfector

It's a day/night cream that has become one of my holy grails to say the least.
Of course at the beach the sun dries your skin, and I want to make sure that my
face is properly moisturized. The benefits of this cream is that it tightens pores, diminishes fine lines and leaves a soft skin texture. I have sensitive skin and combination and am acne prone so when I find a product that works great for me, I stock up. This has been a favorite for quit some time now! I apply this morning and night and before and after any pool or beach time!

Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen SPF 30

After I apply my moisturizer to my face, I then apply Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen. Like I mentioned before I am acne prone, so I always look for something that won't break me out. I always do a little research when looking for sunscreen, especially for my face, because you don't want anything with mineral oil in it! This is a cheap oil that they use in many products but it leads to faster aging and isn't good for our skin! Let me put it this way.. they use the same mineral oil on cars! who wants that on their face? I also look into sunscreen because my skin is sensitive, so when I found that this was clinically tested on acne prone skin, that was a HUGE plus for me! This sunblock is a water based lotion that is weightless and leaves a matte finish so your skin can breath! I always use sunscreen on at least my face, because once again I don't want to age or cause my face to dry out.

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer

I then moisturize the rest of my body! I know these Spray & Go's are pretty new, but I am already hooked! I absolutely can't stand the feeling of lotion and the greasy feeling it leaves behind! So I end up not moisturizing my skin as much as I should! So when I found these, it was like ahhh! I love this because it's spray, so you can easily reach any part of your body, and most the times you don't even need to rub it in AND it dries almost instantly so I am not left with a greasy layer on my skin! I spray this on before the beach so I am nice and moisturized, and then of course after the beach after a fresh shower to replenish the skin!

Neutrogena Beach Defense

Then it's time to protect your body from the sun! Now I know ladies want a nice tan, and with me having some hispanic in my blood, a tan comes pretty easily to me. But you should always put on a little sunscreen to keep the harmful rays out, especially if it's going to be an all day beach or pool day! Now, I'll be honest, I don't usually use 70 proof. This one is my husbands, cause he is pure white boy! I have 30 proof ( It was already packed when I took the pictures) But I always spray my body with sunscreen, but I always do it at different times. Sometimes I spray before we go, and if it's an all day thing I'll probably reapply. Sometimes I spray after being there for a little bit, this Florida sun is a lot hotter than you'd think but on some days it just doesn't come out so I apply the sunscreen accordingly. I'll be honest and say that I should probably always apply it, but I am human too.

Hat

I usually grab a hat on those long beach days! Again to protect my face, and if you haven't caught on by now, I protect my face more than anything. I also like it when I know I am going to be reading on the beach which is probably my favorite since it relaxes me, and the hat helps to keep the sun out of my eyes while I am reading! You can obviously go with any kind of hat, but I got this one from Charming Charlies which literally had every style and color you could imagine! Also I usually apply chapstick which isn't pictured, but your lips get dried out from the sun too!

So let me know how you prep for the sun! I'd love to know what works for you or what I should add into my routine!

Happy Sunbathing!

In and Out and All About

Monday, May 19, 2014

Remember me?

I know I've been M.I.A lately but I promise I have good reasoning!

1. We bought a HOUSE!
In all honesty it happened so fast! We were honestly just looking to move over to the next town to be closer to my work, school and the beach but then we found a brand new house that was perfection and such a good deal that we just couldn't pass it up! But buying a house comes with so much more than you think. Moving out of our old house, moving into the new, and then setting up everything you could imagine ( insurance, tv, internet, pest control, lawn care, water softener, irrigation system, and the list goes on).

2. FINALS
In the middle of buying a house and moving and dealing with everything listed above I was in the middle of classes and studying for finals. The night before my last final we were in our new house and our brand new internet kept going in and out so I literally pulled an all nighter trying to finish everything! It was horrible, but good news is that I passed all my classes and I have a month off before summer session starts!

3. CHER & MOM
Yes Cher is an excuse! As you may know, a couple years ago Cher had her final tour, and I remember my mom being upset because she wasn't able to go. Well turns out that Cher has another tour going on right now so I got tickets for my moms birthday, flew her down here and went to the concert! Row 17 too ;) It was also a good time to see my mom cause it's been about four months and plus she got to see our brand new house!

4. FRIENDS
So some of our closest friends bought a house literally a house away from us! Once we moved here, they really liked the area and with it being a new development, they found a brand new house that they loved so they bought it! So that turned into helping them move and get settled in as well!

5. HOT HOT HOT
It has been absolutely hot here! ( We live in Florida ) So any free time that we have had we have been at our new pool or the beach since we live like ten minutes away from the beach now!

So this is why I have been missing for awhile, but I promise I will be updating much more often now! Let me know if you have anything in particular that you want ideas on, advice or anything in between!
Have a lovely Monday!

Setting the mood

Monday, January 20, 2014

I feel like some people get excited
& then some get depressed.
I'm talkin' 'bout Valentines day!

I personally think it's just a day to show love to those around you! Doesn't matter if you are single or what not, It's all about showing that we care for those around us - but like I said, thats just me. So I decided to jump right in and start getting some love goin' in this house!

My recipe;

<3  Start with some jars
I got these from kirklands awhile ago
for about $10! You could also
use any jars around the house!

Next comes the candy!
I grabbed a couple different kinds,
not only cause I have a sweet tooth
but because the different colors
look cute in the jars!

& maybe I dug into them a little soon.. oopsie

& Then I just simply added the candies to the jars!

I also bought some cute ribbon from Michael's
It was like $2! & added a little extra
cuteness to it! I put these jars and candies
on my entry way table to welcome people
in with sweets ;)

I have a couple more projects for this valentines day so stay tuned!

Pink Packages

Thursday, January 16, 2014

Big ones, small ones, long ones.. you name it I love them.Packages!

I wish I would've taken a picture because there were SIX packages at my door this afternoon! I absolutely love coming home to surprises! I love any mail, cards, postcards, packages and magazines. I'm just never sure what will be in the mailbox or on the door step! In all of my packages today, one stood out to me. Mainly because it was pink but because it's one of my favorites and I knew it was coming soon!
----> I'm talking about my IPSY SUBSCRIPTION

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Michelle Phan is one of the most known make up guru's on youtube! Herself and some of her youtube friends and stylists came up with a monthly beauty subscription called Ipsy or glambag!

--> For $10 a month they send you deluxe samples and sometimes full size beauty products based on your quiz results!

---> You take a quiz so your glambag can be personalized for you!

----> After you receive your products ipsy shows you how to use the products & offers discounts if you would like to purchase full size items.

My glambag for the month of January:

>>My pink packaged arrived! I absolutely love seeing this every month :)

>>>Then the first thing that you pull out is this card. It usually has the different products listed, different messages and whatever else they added!

>>>Next comes the glambag! I do have to say this isn't their cutest one, but usually they absolutely adorable bags & you get one every month! They are so handy for your purse, car, or the billion random things I have! But check out ipsy.com to see their last months bag to give you a better idea!

>>>Then come the products!

>>>Proactive+ Mark fading pads.
I am actually really excited about these!
I have acne marks on my face so I am wanting to see
if these help before I purchase a full size!

>>>Next inside was a smooth shadow creamy eye pencil.
I haven't played with it much yet but the swatch on my hand,
is really pretty.

>>>Next was eye cream and as weird as it sounds I am so excited about it!
I am so weird about aging so I love creams and things!

>>>Then Mojito lip balm, I was worried I wouldn't like it cause I am not a
mint person, but it was very light mint and my lips do feel better!

>>>Last but not least is Healthy Sexy hair leave in conditioner!
Now, I actually already use this on the daily and absolutely
recommend it to everyone! I also love that I now have a travel size!
Perfff!

   >>>I should mention this was not one of my favorites, so go to their website and check out their last couple of months to get a real feel for it! I promise it's worth the $10! Please let me know if you try it out and enjoy it! <<<

Cash out, so Cash in

Saturday, January 11, 2014

I don't know about you and your friends.. but me and mine are broke after the holidays!
So I came up with some ideas how to make some extra money and how to save some.

  • First off lets cash in those gift cards! I feel as though a typical holiday gift now includes gift cards. This often leads to us purchasing something we don't necessarily need or want.. just us trying to use it. I found two websites that I like ( even though there are hundreds out there) to trade your gift cards for cash! Try www.plasticjungle.com or www.Giftcardgranny.com Sell your gift cards for cash and either get to saving or put that cash towards your holiday debt!

  • New year new you, right? I will admit this one is a little odd, but can help the new you, and your empty pocket at the same time! With www.buyandsellhair.com you can do just that! Chop off your hair and sell it! I feel like with a new year everyone is trying to invent their self! So try a new do and sell it so someone else can get a new one as well!

  • Study- No, I don't mean hit the books and study, I mean look up studies being done! There are always college students, companies and hospitals doing different studies, so be their test dummy! You can find them on craigslist, in student newspapers, or look up some on the national institute of health.

  • Give to get- Sometimes donating pays! These days you can donate plasma, sperm, eggs, blood, time, and so many others! Check out www.plasma.com

  • Out with the old- Got new clothes for christmas? Cash in on the old ones! You can trade them in at Consignment shops, Plato's Closet, throw them up on craiglist, or a facebook community resale. Got new electronic or video games? Cash in on them! Game Stop takes video games, cellphones and other electronics you might not need anymore. You can also always get your friends together and have a garage sale to sell any items you might not need anymore.

& Here are some tips on saving money

  • Where does it go?- My money always seems to disappear so fast, but where does it go? www.mint.com is a free and safe site that links up with your bank account and gives you a spreadsheet of where your money is going! It really makes me realize how often I stop for coffee, and how fast it adds up! It can also help you to come up with a savings plan.

  • Visit the app store- The app RedLaser helps you compare while you shop! Think something is a good price? Scan it and it will let you know if somewhere else has a cheaper. Make sure to ask the store if they do price comparison before you take the drive to the store with the cheaper item.

  • Everyone gets gas- in their car. While you are at the app store, another great app to pick up is Gasbuddy. While on the road, this will let you know where the cheapest gas is around you. Why pay more than you have to?

  • Loyalty- Most stores these days have a loyalty rewards program. If it's free sign up! Most of them have great perks from getting extra coupons to free goodies, how can you say no to that? but what I DO hate about it is that I have enough cards in my wallet, that I don't need another! Try the app Keyring. It stores all your loyalty cards so that way you don't miss out if you don't have it on you & one less card in your wallet.

  • Savings not boring- Some people think while they are trying to save money they shouldn't be going out! Check out www.livingsocial.com or www.groupon.com for great deals on food, activities and other things! They always have great deals so that way when you do go out you aren't spending all your saved money! Another great tip is to go out with friends during happy hours! This way you can get half price drinks and appetizers without spending a fortune!

  • Challenge- I am going to challenge you! Come up with some creative way to save a little here and there. I've seen it on Facebook & Pinterest so I though I'd share it on here! The 52 week saving challenge. I dare you to use it if you don't come up with another way of saving.

I am also going to participate in this challenge, so lets do this!
Hope you enjoyed and got at least one good idea out of all this.

What's in my purse?

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

  Switching purses and I thought...
why not share what I carry in my purse?

                                                                The purse;

This beauty is made by Betsy Johnson.
& I ordered it online from Macy's back in October.
I didn't picture it but the inside is a cute floral pattern.

Let's Dive Inside;

First thing I pulled out was my planner!
I purchased this in August from Victoria's Secret.
It was originally just for school, but with my crazy life,
it's came in handy so much! I write everything in it.

Excuse the fingerprints, next thing was my kindle!
I love reading, & I like having this on me for waiting rooms,
down time, and whenever I can get my hands on it.

My wallet.
It def doesn't go with my purse but it's so roomy!
I purchased it from Maurices this winter.

Next two items;
Fat & Carb Blocker.. I work weight loss remember?
& Motrin.. ya never know.

Viva La Juicy Lotion
&
Batiste dry hair shampoo- My absolute favorite,
It's handy for when your hair gets greasy or
you need some extra volume!

Next I have this little make up bag from
Too Faced ( I got it with their favorite pallet)
& inside I have..
What I call my survival kit.
- Toothpaste & tooth brush
- Three baby soft lip's chapstick
(I don't think I need that many but there there)

- Two lipgloss
- Two lipsticks
-Two perfumes
-Hand sanitizer
-Deodorant
-Mascara
-Face powder
- Hand lotion
Now that I've gone through that.. it's a little much.
Remind me to lighten it up in my next bag.

My favorite candies.. oops.

I then have this bag where I carry my phone accessories
Inside;
I have a usb cord, two plug ins &
a Halo extra battery! I seriously LOVE
my extra battery.. if you don't have one,
you need it!

Last;
..but not least
My ray ban sunglasses,
I absolutely love them but am horrible
about keeping them in a case!
oops.

Anyways, that concludes what is in my purse! I hope you enjoyed, and please leave me a comment with what your purse essentials are! I'd love to see what you carry around! Also, any suggestions on what I should carry around!

And if you were wondering, here's what I am carrying next..
